What it costs

from S$100 per visit for the nurse's time. Consumables are billed separately at cost — no markup. After-hours and urgent same-day visits add 40% to the nursing fee (evenings, weekends, public holidays); offshore-zone visits are quoted before you book. What happens during the visit

• The nurse checks the insertion site for any redness or swelling.
• The dressing is changed using a sterile technique.
• The line is flushed to keep it patent.
• Any concerns are documented and flagged.
• A written visit summary is left for the patient's own doctor.

Who needs this

People discharged home with a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) — for example for a course of IV antibiotics or other IV treatment.

How often: PICC dressings are usually changed weekly, with flushing per the treatment plan.

When to call a doctor

• Redness, swelling, pain, or discharge at the insertion site
• Fever or chills (a line infection needs prompt attention)
• The line is blocked, leaking, or has moved out
