What it costs

from S$90 per visit for the nurse's time. Consumables are billed separately at cost — no markup. After-hours and urgent same-day visits add 40% to the nursing fee (evenings, weekends, public holidays); offshore-zone visits are quoted before you book. What happens during the visit

• The nurse confirms the patient's details and positions them comfortably.
• The existing NG tube is removed.
• A new tube is passed and its position confirmed before any feed is given.
• The tube is secured and the feeding plan confirmed with the family.
• A written visit summary is left for the patient's own doctor.

Who needs this

People who are fed through a nasogastric tube at home and need it replaced on schedule, often after a stroke or where swallowing is unsafe.

How often: An NG feeding tube is usually changed every 4–6 weeks.

When to call a doctor

• Coughing, choking, or breathing difficulty during or after the change
• The tube position cannot be confirmed
• Vomiting, or the tube comes out
