An overnight nurse at home in Singapore is typically S$420–540 a night with us for a 10 to 12 hour shift, consumables at cost. An SNB-registered nurse stays with the patient through the night for the things that do not stop at bedtime — tube feeds and flushes, suctioning, turning and pressure relief, catheter and stoma care, medication rounds and observation. This is skilled nursing rather than companionship, and it is usually booked when a family carer is at the end of what they can manage alone.

What happens during the visit

  • We agree the shift hours and what the night needs to cover before booking.
  • The nurse arrives for handover from the family or day carer.
  • Scheduled care runs through the night: feeds, flushes, medication, turning, suctioning, toileting or catheter care.
  • The patient is observed and anything of concern is escalated.
  • A written handover is given to the family or day carer in the morning.

Who needs this

Families caring for someone with high overnight needs — after a hospital discharge, with a tracheostomy or feeding tube, during a period of deterioration, or when the usual carer is unwell or away. Often booked for a few nights rather than indefinitely.

How often: Booked by the night. Some families use one or two nights a week to get the main carer some sleep; others book a solid block after a discharge.

How much does an overnight nurse cost in Singapore?
Typically S$420–540 a night with us for a 10 to 12 hour shift by an SNB-registered nurse, consumables at cost. Shorter hourly blocks are available from S$45 an hour for skilled nursing, with a four-hour minimum.
Is this the same as a confinement nanny or night nanny?
No. A night nanny or confinement nanny looks after a newborn and the mother's recovery, and that is a different service from a different kind of provider. What we send is an SNB-registered nurse for clinical care — feeds through a tube, suctioning, medication, turning, catheter and stoma care. If it is newborn night help you are after, we are not the right fit.
What is the difference between a night nurse and an overnight caregiver?
A caregiver provides personal care and supervision. A registered nurse can also carry out clinical tasks — administering medication, managing a feeding tube or tracheostomy, wound and catheter care — and can recognise and escalate a deterioration. The right choice depends on what the nights actually involve; tell us and we will say which one you need, including when the cheaper option is the correct one.
Can we book just one night?
Yes. Many families book a single night to let the main carer sleep, or a short block after a hospital discharge. There is no package lock-in.
Does the nurse sleep?
No. An overnight nursing shift is a waking shift — the nurse is awake and attending to the patient through the night.
