The AIC subsidy pathway, and how long it takes
Eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs can be referred for AIC-subsidised home nursing, usually arranged through the hospital's care team before discharge. Subsidies are means-tested, and there can be a wait before the first subsidised visit. See home nursing subsidies.

Wards typically prepare the discharge summary and can make an AIC referral, but families are often left to arrange the actual day-to-day home visits themselves — which is where a private nurse fills the gap.
