Can You Use MediSave for Home Nursing?

The honest answer first

MediSave is not designed to pay for routine home-nursing visits. It's built for hospital bills, day surgery, and a set of specific outpatient schemes. So if you're hoping to charge a nurse's home visit straight to MediSave, that generally isn't possible. What MediSave does do is take pressure off the costs around home care.

What MediSave does cover

• Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP): up to $700 a year, or $1,000 for more complex conditions, towards consultations and approved medications for 23 chronic conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure.
• Flexi-MediSave: older Singaporeans can use a yearly sum from MediSave towards outpatient care at polyclinics and CHAS GP clinics.
• MediSave Care: those with severe disability can withdraw a monthly sum from their own or a spouse's MediSave for long-term care.

CHAS: the everyday-care card

The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) subsidises visits to participating GP and dental clinics, including chronic-disease care. It doesn't pay for home nursing, but it lowers the cost of the clinic care that runs alongside it — the medication reviews and check-ups that keep a home-care patient stable.

So what actually pays for the nursing?

For the home-nursing visits themselves, the real levers are the Home Caregiving Grant (a monthly cash payout) and means-tested subsidies for AIC-arranged home nursing. Private home nursing has clear published prices and starts immediately, which is why many families use it while a subsidy is being assessed. Figures here are as published in August 2026.
